The focus of our practice is providing caring, quality, and the latest evidence-driven occupational therapy treatment, in a nature based/outdoor setting. In order to best serve our families and community and to best generalize skills, we may also see clients in their schools.
We treat from the understanding that sensory processing and other foundational skills are vital to participation in daily life and to develop higher level skills.
We are different in that we are truly comprehensive. We provide ongoing support throughout the week via phone or email, and ongoing education and home programming.
We establish comprehensive therapy programs with each family that are truly individualized to their needs, facilitating learning of new skills, and building of long lasting neurological growth.
We serve children with a wide variety of disabilities, developmental delays and sensory processing difficulties.
We can help in many areas: sensory processing/integration, primitive reflex assessment and integration, gross/fine motor coordination, visual perceptual skills, creative problem solving, self-confidence building, social-emotional skills, self-regulation, improved attention, following directions, and other executive functioning skill development.
Children require these foundational skills in order to successfully participate in all of their daily activities, both academically and socially.
OT without restrictions!
At Sprout Outdoor OT we achieve developmental growth through neuroplastic change by targeting critical skills during nature-based play.
Being able to provide therapy in the outdoors, allows for increased connection to nature, and enhances creativity, imagination, and problem solving. This is similar to traditional therapy in the clinic, but without restrictions!

Individualized 1:1 Therapy Sessions
At Sprout Outdoor OT we offer individualized outdoor therapy sessions, where we utilize a strengths based approach, and target critical developmental skills through nature-based play. We intentionally created a comprehensive and holistic program, where repetition, learning and neuroplasticity all come together to create powerful developmental change.
Ryan Lynch, MS, OTR/L of Sprout Outdoor OT
Ryan is passionate about providing quality, caring, and the latest evidenced-based pediatric occupational therapy services to his community. He takes pride in his work and strives to make each session truly meaningful and impactful. Ryan provides traditional pediatric OT, but OUTDOORS!
Sprout Outdoor OT came to life out of a passion for the outdoors, along with the limitations of the traditional medical model. Ryan has reconstructed the way therapy is provided in order to create completely individualized and meaningful pediatric OT, ultimately making a long lasting difference, and meeting the goals of every child and family.
Ryan has lived in Santa Barbara since 2006(originally from Orange County). He and his wife, Adeline(who is a nurse at Cottage Hospital) have recently moved to Ventura. His practice is now split between both the Santa Barbara and Ventura/Ojai communities. When Ryan is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 kids, and immersing in all things outdoors, including hiking, backpacking, and surfing.
To help meet the needs of the increased prevalence of ADHD and difficulties with executive functioning skills, Ryan has recently completed his ADHD-RSP (Rehabilitation Services Provider), which is certification for the evaluation and treatment of ADHD.
